A massage chair essentially attempts to emulate the motions and techniques used by massage therapists.

Many of the most effective chairs use Shiatsu or Swedish massage movements.

Massage Chair

Shiatsu massage chairs use rotating, rolling, patting, pressing, and sweeping movements to release tension in various parts of the body.

Swedish chairs use long gliding strokes and kneading motions to foster better circulation in addition to stress relief.

.

What Are the Main Components

These chairs have three main components: motor, nodes and rollers, and the computer control mechanism.

  • The motor powers the movement of the nodes and rollers and chair adjustments.
  • The nodes and rollers provide massaging motions at specific points. These components target specific areas of the body and come in various sizes and shapes. Users can adjust the nodes and rollers depending on their
  • The computer helps automatically adjust the chair to the user’s height and width and the heating nodes, which is very important when using massage chairs when pregnant.

What Do Doctors Say about Getting a Massage When Pregnant?

Many studies indicate that massage can benefit pregnant women.

The Mayo Clinic reports that massage can help relieve back pain during pregnancy.

Some of the other benefits that massage provides include:

  • Reduction of stress and anxiety

  • Relieving headaches
  • Decreasing symptoms related to depression

  • Coping with pain associated with fibromyalgia or other conditions.

Are These Chairs Safe During Pregnancy, according to Doctors?

An effortless way for pregnant women to obtain a massage is by using a chair.

As long as you are aware of the risks associated with pregnancy chair massages and take appropriate precautions, there is no reason you can’t benefit from these chairs. Some pressure points on the wrists and ankles can stimulate the pelvic muscles and may cause premature labor, so they should be avoided.

Common Misconceptions

The Vibrations Can Harm the Foetus

Many pregnant woman ask themselves, is it safe to sit in a vibrating massage chair during pregnancy?

They worry the vibrations (vibration massage) could damage the fetus or the fetus’ growth.

The chair vibrations are no more jarring than taking a brisk walk. There is no evidence that this sort of vibration harms the fetus in any way.

Getting any type of Massage Can Cause a Miscarriage

Another common concern is, can a massage chair cause a miscarriage?

As with the vibrations, no scientific evidence demonstrates that prenatal massage chair safe use causes miscarriages.

The Further Along You Are, the Greater the Risk

The risks to your pregnancy when you get a message are the same at six weeks as they are at 39 weeks.

Apocryphal tales notwithstanding, no scientific study has proven that using a chair that provides you with a massage or getting a massage induces labor.

The Heating Modules are Dangerous

Many believe that if you use the heating modules, this can induce Hyperthermia, which can cause congenital disabilities.

Doctors recommend against saunas or scalding baths for pregnant women, especially in the first trimester.

The heat modules, however, pose little if any risk of inducing Hyperthermia.

The heating modules direct heat to your calves or back when you sit in the chair.

The amount of heat produced by the chair cannot raise your overall body temperature to the point where you risk overheating.

The Chair’s Electromagnetic Field Can Harm the Baby

Appliances and other electronic devices continuously generate a magnetic field when in use.

Alternative medicine practitioners often incorporate magnetic field therapy for healing purposes.

Some manufacturers sell chairs with magnetic field therapy built explicitly into the massage chairs while pregnant.

However, no current study shows a chair’s magnetic field hurts a fetus. Any minuscule effect is countered by the layer of muscle, tissue, and fat surrounding the baby while in vivo.

Are There any Proven Risks Associated with Massages while Pregnant?

Most of the risks associated with obtaining any sort of massage are the same while preggo as they are when you are without a child.

You should, however, be careful of your body position while getting a massage. Lying face down is not a good idea.

If you happen to use the chair outdoors during the summer, do not activate the heat modules as this can increase the risk of heat-related problems.

Should You Use a chair while pregrnant? Thoughts!

If you're like me, pregnancy brought a flood of uninvited questions and often conflicting advice. As a first-time mom, I was overwhelmed at the hundreds of gadgets and contraptions on offer and equally overwhelmed by a pregnant body that seemed to change overnight. Despite my frenzied, intense interest in staying active, all the prenatal classes and traditional advice in the world wouldn't prepare me for the sudden wave of unhappiness and self-consciousness that came as I looked in the mirror and saw my stomach stretching over its beltline. To be honest, I had no idea how to deal with that feeling.
I began to search for a possible solution, and I came across a pregnant woman who claimed that she helped women attain a perfectly flat stomach in a mere four weeks with her miracle contraption called the Shredded Baby Bench. From the very first day I tried it out, it felt incredibly awkward.

More Positive Effects of Getting a Massage

Back Pain Relief

One of the most common problems reported by women during pregnancy is back pain. A quality chair, with or without the heat function, can help relieve back pain.

Pregnancy Back-Pain Relief

Most pregnant women experience pain in the lower back.

Many find the nodes and rollers in the chair; when you correctly position yourself, provide relief.

Mood Enhancement

The aches, pains, and the general feeling of discomfort associated with pregnancy can put anyone in a bad mood.

Mood Enhancement

A few minutes of relaxing in the chair can not only relieve some of the aches and pains but can also lift your spirits.

No Lotions

Pregnant women often develop a hyper-sensitive sense of smell. Unlike the creams, oils, or lotions a massage therapist uses at a spa, using a chair does not require you to apply any ointment type.

Can You Use Shiatsu Massager When Pregnant?

I use a shiatsu massager during my pregnancy. It is very helpful to relieve pressure on the abdomen and give relief from cramps. It is also good for any nerve-related problem because of its smooth technique. It is a kind of product that comes in different sizes. What You Will Learn From Shiatsu Massager Pregnancy Massage? Shiatsu massage is better than other types of massage. It can improve overall health and is relaxing, as well as non-invasive, can also be a good way to get some time to yourself or a way to get some work done on a day you’re feeling bad.

Shiatsu massage involves “energy movement,” “the use of pressure,” and “two pressure points on your hands and feet.” It requires manual manipulations of the body, often with the hands and feet and sometimes with an instrument that moves against the body. Preparing for the massage helps to bring into focus your body, feel where the pressure is, and practice being in a relaxed due date, happy state. Shiatsu massage also helps to make your skin healthy and supple. It also soothes, calms, and releases tension.

Vibrating Massage Chair While Pregnant

So, you’re pregnant and you’re worried about carrying the baby high and the thought of being able to nurse that big baby! Maybe you’re tired of belly rubs. Or maybe you have the worst butt in the world and just want to make it feel better (I know, I know, stop reading this and go run a mile…) Whatever the case may be, you need a vibrating massage chair.

Since it’s only the second day of this extra-long national holiday I’m writing about, I figured I’d be safe and just leave out the butt part. But, if you’re looking for an easy and fun way to relax, then look no further! Take it from me. After my first pregnancy, I spent most of my maternity leave in this chair. I didn’t have a ton of money at the time and used a gift certificate I got at my baby shower to buy this chair.

Is a Vibrating Bed Safe During Pregnancy?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. According to research, women who have been using vibrating beds for more than 10 years can experience miscarriages. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with other health organizations, recommends that pregnant women use memory foam mattresses and those that are considered non-breathable. "It's not a risk, but I have always said I have four children, and each one I had a day that I was sure I was not pregnant, so I am not as tolerant as most people," says Hansen. "So I don't know if I would use this machine in a pregnancy." For the time being, the reality is, that you'll probably be safe sticking to plain old beds during your pregnancy.

Strengthens Your Immune System

Some studies have indicated that using getting a massage can strengthen your immune system.

Massage therapy stimulates your white blood cells and helps produce more lymphocytes, which help defend the body from viruses.

Boosting Immune System

Massage chairs are a great way for pregnant women who love massages to receive all the benefits of a therapeutic massage right in their own homes.

Anytime the aches, pains, or other debilitating symptoms associated with pregnancy become too much to bear, a few minutes relaxing in the comfort of your own home can bring welcome relief.
