Being on the ketogenic diet, you must have heard of Ketogenix by now.
What is Kegenix?
It is an exogenous ketone supplement that is using a formula developed by Dr. Dominic D'Agostino of Keto Nutrition and a few other PhD's at the University of South Florida.
On the Tim Ferris podcast, Dom said that he had good results taking it!
It’s on TV as well as the radio since it’s a popular brand that specializes in supplements that support the keto diet and lifestyle.
Some of their most popular products are Kegenix Prime and Kegenix Real Ketones Keto Meal Replacement.
What is Kegenix prime?
It is one of few different supplements that are developed to help with your ketogenic diet to enhance your experiences from the keto or low carb or lifestyle.
In other words, Ketogenix makes exogenous ketones, which supposedly help you reach ketosis faster and help you stay there.
Their products are based on the idea of Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, a South Florida physician.
After a lot of testing and hard work, the Ketogenic supplement entered the market back in 2016.
Their mission is to help you enter ketosis the easy way, help you sustain a keto state, and improve your health at the same time.
But is it really as powerful as it claims to be? Read the review before buying the product to see what you’re actually getting for your money!
Benefits - Does It Really Get The Job Done?
When switching from carbs as a primary source of energy to fat, you can experience some side effects and fatigue.
That’s where these types of supplements come in. It helps you to overcome the change smoothly enough since getting in ketosis and staying there can be quite demanding for you and your body.
Ketogenix is designed to help people avoid the symptoms of keto flu by providing the support they require.
Some of the benefits include
- faster recovery
- helps you burn fat
- boosts your energy levels
- puts you in nutritional ketosis
- helps you lose weight
- stimulates metabolism
- reduces cravings
- improves brain function

What Are the Ingredients?
Sticking to a low carb diet can be difficult.
Not only because of the diet itself but because the supplements can make your life harder.
The ingredients are much more important than many think and it’s only the true keto devotees that produce the highest-quality products that are efficient and keto-approved.
Let’s see how Ketogenix and DR. D’Agostino designed this ketogenic supplement.
Medium Chain Triglycerides
These triglycerides (MCTs) are triglycerides with two or three fatty acids.
These are responsible for boosting ketone production in your body.
What’s more, they also help to stabilize blood sugar!
Beta-Hydroxybutyric Acid
Also known as BHB, this ingredient provides a natural kick of energy and it is excellent for people who have low glucose levels.
L-Leucine
An important amino acid that you have to get through food because your body can’t make it on its own.
Not only does it help to maintain muscle mass, but it also boosts weight loss, regulates cholesterol levels, and promotes anabolic effects without increasing the production of glucose.
L-Lysine
An essential amino acid, l-lysine is a building block for protein.
It boosts fat loss, promotes a healthy gut, and speeds up the fat loss.
L-Isoleucine
Another essential amino acid, l-isoleucine helps to regulate blood sugar and boost energy levels. Apart from that it also aids in hemoglobin production.
Green Tea Leaf Extract
Made from dried green tea leaves helps to stimulate metabolism and is rich in antioxidants.
Erythritol
A sweetener that is low in calories and it doesn’t affect the levels of blood sugar in your body.
Rebaudioside A
Another sweetener made from stevia extract.
Apart from these, it contains other ingredients that supposedly boost its potency even though not all users might agree:
- Protein blend
- Malic, citric acid
- Maltodextrin, silicon dioxide, and disodium phosphate
- Natural flavor and color
How Does It Taste Like?
There are three flavors available:
- Kegenix Prime Orange Blast
- Wild Berry
- Fruit Medley
Don’t get too excited about the variety of flavors; none are tasty, and they’re all quite sour. It’s a well-known fact that exogenous ketones taste bad.
Prime packets are no exception. The aftertaste lingers on your tongue like a bad memory.
There are a few yet rare exceptions that love the taste, but they are few and far between.
Effectiveness and Results That I Got
There’s no doubt about it; Keenix is a good-quality product that is a welcome and effective supplement on a ketogenic diet.
The results that I got confirmed that the product works as promised; I had more energy, and I felt much better.
The minor side-effects were annoying; they made me feel uneasy.
Still, I experienced zero cramps, and it kicked me into ketosis quickly enough. I felt less craving, and I stopped feeling hungry all the time.
Overall, I felt motivated, and my productivity returned. It was a great experience if you eliminate the jitters and sleeping problems I had the first couple of days.
Still, no matter how effective it is, I found a more reliable supplement which you can find below because this brand is expensive.
I used to get Kegenix pouches until I couldn’t find them any longer. They were effective, and I loved them.
The container, however, is a huge rip-off. It’s not as effective, and it comes only half full according to a number of online claims (including my own).
That’s when I decided it’s time to look for something else.
Kegenix vs. Pruvit
One of the strongest competitors to Kegenix is probably Pruvit Ket OS, another dietary supplement.
They both claim to promote similar benefits, namely fat burning, mental clarity, and fat loss.
They both are a good source of energy, but there are minor differences between the two that might tip the scale when it comes to choosing the best keto supplement of ketone technologies.
Apart from the benefits they have, these two offer very similar value for similar effects and ingredients.
Still, if we had to choose one, we’d go for Keto OS. Yes, the taste is similar to both of these keto supplements, but there are a few minor differences between both: Keto OS contains more natural ingredients.
What’s more, it causes less side effects, and it’s completely safe for consumption.
Pruvit is an established low-carb supplement that promotes faster recovery of the muscles and helps burn fat!

Do exogenous ketones put you into ketosis?
Yes, exogenous ketones will put you into ketosis. Your body can get into ketosis through diet, but the process may take a couple of days. Exogenous ketones are developed to speed up the whole process. Generally, you can find exogenous Real ketones Prime in the powdered ketone salts form.
Is Kegenix Prime Safe on Keto Die Is There Any Side Effects?
Sadly, the side-effects are more concerning than we’d like to believe.
We tested the product, and we haven’t experienced any serious side effects apart from the tension and jitters which were quite unpleasant.
What’s more, I haven’t been able to sleep for the first few days when I took the supplement.
I thought that with time, my body would adapt to the supplement and the side effects would reduce.
I browsed for other users’ reviews, and many people reported the following side effects:
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Muscle cramps
- Elevated heart rate
- Disorientation and confusion
Who Should Use Kegenix Supplements?
Kegenics ketones supplements are recommended for those on the keto diet, for athletes and adults who want to lose weight.
Even if you’re only trying to benefit from a keto supplement and are not on a fat-loss mission, you can still improve your mental and physical health with Kegenix prime pouches.
When Should You Take Real Ketones?
Ketones are what are known as by-products of fat oxidation. In fact, by-products of fat oxidation are all the fat you are burning during exercise. Yes, you can be burning fat when you are sleeping, and this is normal, but when you are exercising you are burning so much fat that your body actually needs the ketones to do its job of processing that fat for energy. When you are done exercising and you have reached your target heart rate, it's time to begin making use of the ketones.
What is Keto Emulsified Whey Protein Powder? Keto Emulsified Whey Protein Powder is one of the best sources of ketones for lean muscle building, along with Forks and Broth. When you combine these two types of ketone sources, they are what is known as “natural ketone solutions.” Keto Emulsified Whey Protein Powder will start to kick in after a few? Ketones are the finished by-products of fat oxidation.
What Does Ketosis Mean?
Everyone would like to know what it is that one actually goes through during the period of ketosis? Why is it that it’s important for people to go on a ketogenic diet? Well, there are many theories as to what it actually means. There are many theories that suggest that a ketogenic diet is good for weight loss. For a typical 2,000 calorie meal, it is necessary to burn 6,000 calories through exercising in order to get the body into ketosis.
Furthermore, some experts say that ketosis is a metabolic state in which the body burns fats instead of carbohydrates. Many also believe that a ketogenic diet is helpful to those people who have diabetes, thyroid conditions, high blood pressure, fatty liver, or even those who have Type 2 diabetes. It is also believed to be helpful to those people who have other conditions that cause a change in metabolism. There are many things that a person with a ketogenic diet can do while it is in a state of ketosis that will help them.
How Many Real Ketones Do You Drink a Day?
You've heard of 'bad' carbs, right? Do you think of low-fat options? Forget it. You've probably heard more than enough about carbs to last you a lifetime, whether you're talking about my good friend the ketogenic diet, the latest diet fad, or the gluten-free nonsense in the medical community that suddenly popped up and is gaining a lot of traction. You don't need to name it. Everyone's been hearing about it. (You can read more about these diets and how they're scaring people on the Ask Dr. Greg Facebook page).
Well, I hate to bring up another one, but most doctors and researchers seem to think this one is worth looking into. Because, my friends, people don't generally consider putting fruit juice in their blender with a little lemon and vodka and calling it a day 'healthy'. The latest trend in 'wellness' is the ketogenic state diet. In short, it's a low-carb, high-fat diet, and you're supposed to eat as much fat as possible while minimizing your carb intake. In order to follow this diet, you basically need to eliminate all sugars and processed foods.
How Often Should You Drink Real Ketones?
If you choose to go that route, it should be just fine (you can still enjoy a drink or two with the ketones in your body.) The studies we saw earlier were done with pure ketones (the lab has an advantage there!), but it’s possible that you’d have no problem drinking a “pure” supplement as well. Of course, you shouldn’t drink too much of it. For all the ketogenic blogs out there, here’s the low-down on real ketones.
I have no idea whether this stuff is an OTC product or a prescription. This is for informational purposes only. For the most part, unless you’re at really high risk for ketosis, we don’t advise consuming ketones. If you want to go keto and you’re going to need your full 30 grams of fat per day, you’re going to need to supplement with something.
Do Exogenous Ketones Really Work?
Exogenous ketones, primarily available in the form of ketone salts or ketone esters, have garnered attention as potential tools for enhancing ketosis, athletic performance, and cognitive function. Their efficacy, however, depends on specific goals and individual circumstances.
Exogenous ketones are compounds that can elevate blood ketone levels without the need for strict carbohydrate restriction. They work by providing the body with readily available ketone bodies, primarily beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB). While they do increase ketone levels, their effectiveness varies:
Ketosis Induction: Exogenous ketones can rapidly induce ketosis, making them useful for those transitioning into a ketogenic diet or seeking immediate cognitive benefits associated with ketosis.
Performance Enhancement: Some studies suggest that exogenous ketones may improve endurance and exercise performance, especially in situations where glycogen availability is limited. However, results can be inconsistent.
Cognitive Function: BHB, a primary exogenous ketone, may enhance cognitive function and focus in some individuals. The effects are more noticeable during cognitively demanding tasks.
Weight Loss: Exogenous ketones alone are unlikely to lead to significant weight loss. They might aid weight loss indirectly by reducing appetite or enhancing adherence to a ketogenic diet.
Therapeutic Benefits: Exogenous ketones are being explored for potential therapeutic uses, such as epilepsy treatment and neuroprotection. Research in these areas is ongoing.
It's essential to note that exogenous ketones should not be seen as a shortcut to a ketogenic diet's full metabolic benefits. They work best in conjunction with a well-formulated ketogenic diet. Individual responses to exogenous ketones can vary, and their effectiveness may be influenced by factors like diet, genetics, and activity level.
In summary, exogenous ketones can raise blood ketone levels and offer various potential benefits, but their effectiveness varies among individuals and purposes. They are not a magic solution but can be a valuable addition to a ketogenic lifestyle or specific performance and cognitive enhancement strategies.
